I see right through to you!

I see right through you by DJ Encore, music from the 90's which i'm starting to listen more to because of the lack of originality in music these days. There has also been a lack in style for fashion! There's nothing new now that hasn't been done before. We've actually started to resort to the same ideas from the 90's, 80's, 70's even the 60's. Let's look back!

90's fashion:

- baby doll dresses + thigh high socks (made popular by Cher in Clueless)
- Denim -> Baggy
pants(hip hop)
- Bright colours -> pants for kids
- Overalls -> unhooking one/ unhooking both with a belt.
- Tucked in shirts
- Shoes (Doc Martens, Mary Janes, Platform sneakers)
-"Grunge" look

80's Fashion:

- Hair = spiky/curly/big
- Huge/Batwings sweaters
- Leggings
- Leg Warmers
- Pointed Stilettoes
- Bright colours
- Jeans with cartoons on it
- High Tops
- Shoulder pads

70's fashion:

- Mini skirts
- Maxi dresses
- Hot pants
- Catsuits/ Jumpsuits (halter top + flared pants)
- Straight/ flared empire line dresses
- Floral design
- Highneck
- Farrah Fawcett hairstyle(use of tongs and heated rollers)
- Platform soled shoes
- Disco style ( hot shiny colours - gold, leapard skin, stretch halter jumpsuit, white)

So now that we've looked back, what have we taken from their styles?

  3. I was a teenager during the Glam 70's and in my 20's during the 80's (my personal fav for clothes/accessories/big hair). I'm trying to explain to my 9 year old (we're watching "The Runaways" movie) about what we wore in the 70's. What everybody calls "low risers" and "flares", we called "hiphuggers" and "bellbottoms". Platform shoes, shiny fabric. Totally "David Bowie". Long straight hair with feathered bangs and satin pants. I was 14 in 1977. Then came the awesome 80's. My hair had to be BIG! Ruffled mini skirts w/leggings, lots of bracelets, spandex and leather pants. Plus the "Madonna Look". Hair bands and pop music. This was my FAVORITE decade for fashion. What a blast we had getting dressed to go out!
