Surprise! It's me (:

Just in advance! I'm sorry i haven't blogged in quite awhile, school has been busy. Teachers keep loading the homework, projects, and tests/quizes. But I'm here now so be happy! I'll just tell you of whats been going on and whats coming up to  keep you in the loop of things. So how are you guys? I'm doing fine, other than the pack full of homework and the very busy schedule. With volleyball practice on monday, volleyball games on tuesday and thursday, volunteering at a school on wednesday, baby sitting on the weekend. All except friday, where i can actually take a nap and relax a bit.

My week...

What a week its been! First of all my cousin or someone got me sick 4 days before student elections (Sept. 22,2009) and i had to do a big speech in front of my whole grade! Secondly, I had volleyball tryouts right after school and before that, Monday, I had picture day! FANTASTIC! right? Well it was alright, perhaps.

We all waited for this day... School.

School has finally arrived on this week. Waking up early, catching the bus and listening to the teachers for an hour while playing with your pen to try and entertain yourself. Isn't this fantastic? No... it's not. This year is the mid point of highschool, grade 10. During this grade a lot of us are split up (well at my school). Some of us joined the Trek program, some of us have sadly changed schools (miss you leigh, chris, marco, nicole!), some of us are in Pre-IB and the rest are surviving the school year.

School has been the same, boring. i'll answer a few questions that may be on your mind.

The making of many projects yet to come

I've been thinking lately of the many projects im interested of making during my busy/ stressful time at school. Of course there will be that time where i want to sit back and let my stress drift away and i've decided to sew. As long with whatever projects my friends and family want me to do.

- McCall's M5586
- McCall's M5388
- Duffle Tote
- Ruffled Totebag
- Soho Slouch Tote
- Necklace
- Mannequin
- Snack Bag
- Reusable Sandwhich Bag
- Owl Brooch
- T-shirt Dress
- Bow Bag
- Gilet

And that's my list for now. If i have anymore i'll be sure to post it up! I'm starting to get excited, my list will expand as well as my knowledge. I'll be posting up some steps on different things i learned as well. Thanks a bunch, i'm excited!

My Habits...

So I'm guessing you guys want to know a bit more about me, right? Like what is my usual schedule and so on. So here it is.

Waking up
I usually wake up to the sound of my alarm clock, the light coming through my window or even people talking (i.e. my brother). All depending on what day it is. Whether it's a weekday or a weekend it usually changes. But everything is the same, I'm so tired and a bit cranky. What time you say? I would say 6-6:30 on weekdays because i want to take a shower, before it's being used (around 7) and because i want to have breakfast, which usually doesn't happen because I'm too busy getting ready (yes, i know it's bad.) On weekends, i would say i wake up at 10:30-12 depending what time i slept last night and how tired i am. I usually have brunch on those days because i don't need to rush.

Using the 3 R's

As we know, we've learned from our parents to recycle more than to throw out. So I've been thinking green lately. I've thought of sewing with what I have than to throw it all out or to let it collect dust. How about i reuse the fabric from previous projects or even old clothes that i don't wear anymore. Today i was ruffling through some bags and boxes when i encountered something great! My old baby clothes! Full of bright colours and eye catching design. I may be able to attach them together and make a quilt (full of memories) or make them into shoes and sell or donate them to those who need them. Well i'm excited!

Great news! I recently learned how to use a twin needle... unfortunately one of the needles broke :( Looks like i got to buy another one! Talk to you guys next week!

Sincerely,

Burdastyle

Hey everyone!

Just wanting to tell you about this website that I'm also posting my stuff on! Burdastyle, you can leave comments, favorite, learn how to sew and plenty more! I first found out about Burdastyle in the morning when I was thinking about what to make with all my left over fabric from previous projects. When I stumbled on this website, it was a community for sewers/seamstresses. Then and there I decided, "Why don't i join this community too?" Later on I decided to add all my projects on. Sooner enough people, whom i don't even know, started commenting, favoriting and asking for tips on how i made certain projects. Another thing I like about Burdastyle is the pattern page! This page is where Burdastyle as well as other members of the community, post up printable patterns that you can make at home. This is fantastic because most of them are less than $5 or even FREE! So come check it out! I'm sure you'll be able to find something your looking for!

Sincerely,
K3Ubasilan

Better version...

The Emami Dress

Just look at this dress! It is simply stunning, even more than the le sac dress! So i have decided to scratch that idea and go on to this dress. Although i will have to try and think of how to create it, I believe it will be worth ever stitch! I'm quite excited! It's the same material as the Le Sac Dress, which is jersey knit. I believe i'm going to stick with my colours that i chose, perhaps the darker colours as they look stunning! Yay! Please enjoy the video of the different styles as I watch to see how exactly this is made, unless i find a tutorial online. Which would be lots of help!\

**
By the way! I am sorry for not posting something on Monday or yesterday because i was awfully busy and didn't have the time to go online!

I see right through to you!

I see right through you by DJ Encore, music from the 90's which i'm starting to listen more to because of the lack of originality in music these days. There has also been a lack in style for fashion! There's nothing new now that hasn't been done before. We've actually started to resort to the same ideas from the 90's, 80's, 70's even the 60's. Let's look back!

Summer thing

Hey you guys, I've gotten so many people asking me to make something so i decided with all the free time in the summer ill go and do that =)all i need is for you guys to do the following:
1) choose a pattern ( I'll buy it)
2) ha, I've got to measure you ( depending on what the product is)
3) you buy the fabric, i am not buying it >< ( i can come with you to help you out though!) 4) i may give a little fee? but not too much =) don't want you spending a fortune!
so here are the pattern websites:
Simplicity
McCall's
Vogue
Buttericks
(just click anything under the column patterns and send a message to me =)If you guys want anything on it? i will try my best

well here it goes =)
** Note : I will put K3U on the product
*** PS Its easier to get a simplicity or mcalls pattern because the store isn't far from me... note it may be longer for a vogue or butterick pattern
